As we continue to descend into a time of seasonal darkness, the Moon’s light decreases while frigid polar winds vanquish thoughts of summer breezes and visions of green for those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere. Although this has always been the time of year when we’re faced with the need to cultivate our own inner light to dispel the darkness, the current perils facing us now require us to lift our vibratory field, not only for our own sake, but for the whole of our beleaguered human family.
On the face of things, this coming week appears to be the last in which the astrological signatures are relatively calm. Of course, this isn’t to say that tranquility will reign here below, as the specter of death and mayhem only seems to grow with each passing day, just that I have little to offer about the coming week as my immediate concern is focused on the turbulent indicators unfolding in the weeks that lie ahead.
Although many all of us are less than happy, if not depressed, with the way we’re entering the holiday season under the shadow of Covid-19 and the never-ending political shitshow, it would be good to enjoy what peace we have at the moment. From here on out, the historical, geocosmic signatures closing 2020 and commencing 2021 appear fraught with challenges as we move through a time of drastic change and collective transformation. Keep the faith, dear readers. Keep the faith.
Lunar Gardening Report
There are a number of days this week in which the Moon occupies fertile signs, yet due to the fact that the Moon will be in its closing, Last Quarter Phase, this really isn’t a good week to plant anything. Sunday through Tuesday are favorable days for cleaning-out garden beds, organizing tools, splitting wood and prepping for the cold months ahead, but a poor time to plant with the Moon in Virgo. Wednesday through Saturday will see the Moon moving through the fertile stretch of Libra and Scorpio, which would typically be good days to plant and fertilize, yet considering the darkly-waning Moon is typically referred to as an agricultural “dying time,” this is obviously far from being optimal for growth. But don’t let this stop you from experimenting; see for yourself if there’s anything to the prohibition on planting during the Moon’s darkened phase. The next best lunar condition for planting and fertilizing will arrive late afternoon Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Daily Forecast (For all signs)
(Times are Eastern Standard/-0500UTC)
Sunday, Dec. 6: There’s a good chance that initiatives, decisions and purchases made before 2:45 pm won’t stick due to the Moon void-of-course (VOC) in Leo until that time. After this, the Moon will be in Virgo where it lends itself to a closer inspection of details through Tuesday. Irritations and vexations are possible this morning while news and communication are likely to take unexpected twists and turns, testing our flexibility in the face of any sudden changes in plan.
Monday, Dec. 7: There’s continuing turbulence in the communication sector this morning which might begin to lift and stabilize as we move through the remainder of the day. The Virgo Moon enters its Last Quarter Phase at 7:37 pm, perhaps signaling the need to make adjustments to anything set into motion over the past three weeks. This is also the commencement of a week leading to next Tuesday’s New Moon/Total Solar Eclipse; making this a period of critical completions, finalizations and last-minute tweaks. The late evening hours lend themselves to movies, music and reading while discouraging the pursuit of anything requiring reason and clarity.
Tuesday, Dec. 8: The Virgo Moon forms aspects to Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn throughout the day with control issues arising in the morning hours while a more expansive and potentially fortunate tone dominates the afternoon. Sober evaluations and constructs are indicated around sunset, triggering a brief, 90-minute VOC beginning at 5:35 pm, ending when the Moon glides into Libra at 7:00 pm where harmony and cooperation are likely to prevail.
Wednesday, Dec. 9: There may be some indecisiveness or ambiguity to contend with today with the Moon in Libra, perhaps due to a multitude of competing viewpoints and perspectives that need to be taken into account. On top of this, we have an aspect often associated with confusions, deceptions and underhanded dealings, especially involving men and/or persons in positions of authority (Sun square Neptune). This contact also has a strong association with debilitated physical and mental states, which is likely to coincide in an increase of troubling news regarding the pandemic we’re in the midst of.
Thursday, Dec. 10: Although there’s a strong cooperative element presiding with the Moon continuing its journey through Libra, there are signs of turbulence as the Moon runs up against the Pluto-Neptune-Saturn configuration throughout the day. This would suggest some form of blockage in terms of the unfolding of potentials that have been in place the past few days, but we need to see these as temporary delays with matters opening back up tomorrow. After a fleeting, one-hour VOC period beginning at 8:00 pm, the Moon enters the emotionally-intense sign of Scorpio at 9:00 pm, invoking a deeper probe into things that haven’t added up in recent days or weeks. Assertive, aggressive or even violent actions are possible during the late night, early morning hours, forcing the issue on some level tomorrow (Sun trine Mars).
Friday, Dec. 11: With the Scorpio Moon now in its closing Balsamic Phase today ahead of Monday’s New Moon/Total Solar Eclipse, something is likely to be coming to a head. This would be a good time to look closely at whatever needs to be completed and finalized as we reach the end of a solar-lunar cycle at the close of 2020. If there is anything in your life that needs to be changed, resolved or eliminated, this weekend is the time to do it; whatever comes into the picture on Monday will likely be locked into place for some time to come. Unexpected changes in plan are possible this morning, so flexibility and a Plan B would be useful in such an event.
Saturday, Dec. 12: The morning hours favor a deep dive into the mystery with the Scorpio Moon in aspect with Pluto while matters involving love, sex and money come to the foreground later this afternoon. Indecisiveness could mark the evening hours when the Moon passes through a brief VOC before entering Sagittarius at 9:39 pm, the same sign where the Total Solar Eclipse occurs on Monday. Items involving religion, politics, ideology and partisanship are likely to become magnified or exaggerated this weekend, especially in light of the fact that Monday also happens to be the day the Electoral College certifies Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States. Heads up, everyone.
