The wheel of karma turns and the universal mechanics of truth and justice click into place, exposing the dark, shadowy underbelly of power and influence that has skewed democracy for far too long. We’re currently moving through a period where we encounter extremes that need to be confronted as indicated by Pluto hovering stationary direct in late Capricorn. Here we find the subject of power and its use or abuse being brought front and center with regard to revelations and a flood of old/new information soon to inundate Trump and Co. With Saturn still hovering opposite the U.S. Sun placement, the options narrow when it comes to Congress doing the right thing while the specter of accountability and consequence troubles their sleep.
How the current scenario plays out in an immediate sense will be interesting to watch. Of course, I have a lot more to say on the subject, but for now the only thing I can assure you is the same thing I’ve been repeating, ad nauseam for more than two years now: Donald Trump will not finish his first term nor will he be on the 2020 ballot.
October Notes
We have some interesting astrological activity at work as we cross the cusp of October, especially stationary Pluto pushing dark and slimy business to the surface to be reckoned with. Pluto (Hades) is the ruler with the Underworld, which also includes mob-like activities as well as bending power to serve selfish, personal ambitions.
We’re just now coming away from Saturday’s New Moon in Libra with the Moon beginning to take on light; this suggests ideal conditions for strong, positive starts that can be sustained for weeks to come. Beginning Monday, we’re looking at favorable days for action without extended void-of-course (VOC) periods mucking things up. It’s also important to note that the next lunar cycle opens at the end of October, a cycle containing Mercury retrograde at Halloween, which makes the current cycle even more critical for getting the ball rolling.
While we’re on the subject of Mercury, the planet of news and information will enter Scorpio (the sign ruled by Pluto) at the same time Pluto stations direct on Thursday. Mercury in Scorpio is big on research, investigations, secrets and deep dives into the details; it also implies media manipulation, misdirection or psychological warfare. Because Mercury will turn stationary retrograde in late Scorpio at the end of October, it appears as though it will continue to dig up dirt in Scorpio until early December.
Mars also makes news by crossing the cusp of Libra on Friday where we’re likely to see weak, ineffective actions or behaviors over the next seven weeks. In classical astrology, Mars is considered to be in its “Fall,” or weakened in Libra, the sign opposite Mars’ home sign of Aries, which means Mars is out of its element, undermined or thwarted in some sense. Mars defaults to pushing on things to make stuff happen, yet when visiting Venus’ well-appointed home in Libra, the God of War is compelled to take off his shoes and begrudgingly abide by Libra’s rules of cooperation, temperance and compromise.
Lunar Gardening Report
Wait for it… Even though the Libra New Moon opened a new growing cycle on Saturday, it won’t begin to take on any light of its own until after sunset Sunday. Monday and Tuesday we hit pay dirt with the Crescent Moon transiting Scorpio; ideal for sprouting, direct seeding, transplanting, fertilizing with compost and manure as well as pruning to encourage growth. We then shift the focus from planting to cutting, clearing, weeding and pest control under the Sagittarius Moon, Wednesday through Friday morning. The weekend looks good for all manner of planting and fertilizing with the Moon in the semi-fertile earth sign of Capricorn from Friday afternoon through Sunday night with an emphasis on tubers, bulbs or plants requiring strong root development.
Daily Forecast (For all signs)
(Times are Eastern Daylight/-0400UTC)
Sunday, Sept. 29: We’re still experiencing the tail-wind off yesterday’s New Moon in Libra with considerable turbulence and agitation throughout the morning hours (Sun quincunx Uranus). Improvement in mood and temperament is possible closer to noon as well as an ideal time to take-in a movie or concert. Even though a general state of cooperation is to be expected, someone might be pushing the fear and control buttons in an underhanded way. Important conversations, aimed at fostering greater clarity and understanding are favored later tonight, yet with the still-darkened Libra Moon going void-of-course (VOC) at 10:00 pm, it would be best to leave final decisions and agreements for tomorrow.
Monday, Sept. 30: The Scorpio Moon now begins to take on light, lending greater emotional intensity as well as laser-sharp perception and focus, making it an ideal time for any serious new beginning. The morning is best for getting a running start under clear skies while remaining watchful, yet flexible, mid-afternoon in the event we encounter turbulence or sudden deviations from the known. Another contact later tonight suggests dirty business wherever love, sex or money are concerned; manipulations, gas-lighting and other forms of skulduggery may be exposed as well (Venus square stationary Pluto).
Tuesday, Oct. 1: Any commotion taking place last night is likely to continue oozing-out into the light of day with the Scorpio Moon looking on. Otherwise, the skies are quiet, encouraging us to use this time for acting in a sharp, focused way with regard to our goals and intentions at the onset of the current lunar cycle.
Wednesday, Oct. 2: The background tone shifts after the Moon exits Scorpio for Sagittarius at 7:45 am and we find ourselves feeling a bit more upbeat and optimistic than we have so far this week. Besides the fact that we’re in the midst of an intense Pluto station before it ends retrograde tomorrow, there is little to report in terms of immediate aspects. Again, today is another excellent day for pushing ahead on projects and plans that continue to build momentum over the next ten days while also encouraging us to lighten-up and find the humor in difficult situations.
Thursday, Oct. 3: Pluto stations direct today, ending its annual, five-month retrograde in the latter degrees of Capricorn (20Cap27). Although this planetary archetype of transformative power, covert, obsessive, compulsive and manipulative behaviors has been seriously amplified (stationary) over the past week (and will continue to do so for another week), there could be something rather dark, stark and obvious reaching our awareness Less than two hours after Pluto stations, Mercury crosses the cusp into Scorpio, the sign ruled by Pluto, suggesting probing inquiries, investigations, fact-finding and psychological warfare for the next 60 days due to Mercury turning retrograde in Scorpio on Halloween. Boo!
Friday, Oct. 4: Just past midnight, Mars leaves Virgo for Libra where it will remain for the next seven weeks, pointing in the direction of aggressive relationship dynamics, forced compliance or ineffectual efforts. The overall tone grows more serious once the waxing Moon enters Capricorn at 1:43 pm, lending itself to follow-up, practical actions and greater levels of productivity. Irritations mid-afternoon give us our first taste of grumpy Mars in Libra while communication flows readily in the late afternoon. Unusual forms of after-hours entertainment are favored for those just getting their second wind at midnight.
Saturday, Oct. 5: The Capricorn Moon enters its First Quarter Phase today at 12:47 pm, marking the half-way point between the New Moon and the Full Moon, seen as a time to make necessary adjustments and recalibrations as we move toward our goals. What might appear as a problem is probably a subtle nudge in the right direction. There could be a general sense of seriousness or weariness later this afternoon when the Capricorn Moon visits Saturn, the king of Capricorn, but this might just as easily represent the tired satisfaction of getting a difficult job done and put to bed. A much lighter aspect unfolds later tonight, letting us down gently amid soft comforts and dreamy vibes.
