This week we’re in a liminal state with little in the way of major planetary aspects or ingresses, which marks a time for adjustments as we move from this past Thursday’s New Moon/Partial Solar Eclipse. Next week appears rather stormy with the Full Moon/Total Lunar Eclipse aligned with Mars Retro (July 27) in addition to Mercury stationing retrograde (July 26-27), I would suggest that this coming week is perhaps your best bet for putting projects and plans into motion. Even so, the two-week time span between the New Moon Eclipse and a Full Moon Eclipse is considered a time for errors and missteps, so it would be best to be totally certain about what it is you are launching; any ambivalence could easy turn into a costly, time consuming process.
Lunar Gardening Report
Although we’re on the fertile side of Thursday’s New Moon Eclipse, we’re seeing some less than favorable planting and feeding days until late afternoon Tuesday. Saturday morning shows the Moon still in Leo, good for weed and pest control as well as mowing or cutting stuff that you don’t want to grow back too soon. Sunday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon are lousy days to plant or fertilize but ideal for cleaning and organizing tools or assembling new beds. The good stuff finally rolls around Tuesday at 3:45 pm when the Moon enters Libra for two days and we get the first solid green light we’ve seen in weeks. The Libra Moon is particularly fond of vining plants, flowering annuals, shrubs and other ornamentals. The planting streak then continues with the Moon in Scorpio Friday and Saturday; an excellent time to plant just about anything as well as fertilize with composted materials.
Daily Forecast (for all signs) (Times are Eastern Daylight/-0400UTC)
Sunday, July 15: If you’re making plans today, keep in mind that the Moon will be void-of-course (VOC) until 1:30 pm which means that agreements may not turn out the way we thought they would if made before the Moon enters Virgo at 1:30 pm . Innovative approaches or activities off the beaten path are indicated in the late afternoon along with a more serious or mature demeanor at sunset. The opening Crescent Moon joins Venus in the western sky after sunset which portends harmonious interactions, particularly where significant others are concerned.
Monday, July 16: The waxing Virgo Moon lends itself to detailed analysis, as well as clearing, cleaning, organizing and editing in the workplace; a good way to start the week. Choppy communication is indicated midday with the potential for manipulative word-play or something emerging in the daily news cycle that doesn’t settle well (Mercury quincunx Pluto). Speaking of communication, Mercury begins to slow ahead of turning retrograde ten days from now, encouraging us to get a move on when it comes to important business. Use care with transactions in the late afternoon as there may be something important you’re missing or else someone isn’t being totally forthcoming.
Tuesday, July 17: Easy does it with the Moon VOC in Virgo until 3:45 pm, putting major decisions, agreements and plans in jeopardy if set before that time. Better to stick with routines instead of important business until the Moon crosses the cusp into Libra at 3:45 pm, signaling the potential for harmonious interactions, cooperative endeavors and a fair amount of ambivalence. A late-night lunar aspect may come across as harsh or oppressive which can be simply remedied by turning in a little earlier than usual.
Wednesday, July 18: Clear sailing with the Moon continuing to move unmolested through the partnership sign of Libra, ideal for harnessing cooperative assistance and outside opinion. Closer to sunset we might see some minor confusion or misunderstanding getting in the way of a non-complicated evening.
Thursday, July 19: The Moon continues to wax in Libra with sharper mental focus in the early morning when we get a considerable amount of work done. The Libra Moon also reaches its First Quarter Phase at 3:52 pm which often points to a course correction of sorts; if you find things begun over the past week (since the New Moon Eclipse) not working out the way you would like, this is the time to contemplate a new approach or technique. The Libra Moon also enters a VOC period at 3:52 pm that will last until the Moon enters Scorpio at 9:13 pm and matters take on a more serious tone.
Friday, July 20: Irritations and vexations are possible first thing this morning when the Scorpio Moon has a run-in with Mars, asking us to assert ourselves without overdoing it. A softer lunar contact occurs early evening, excellent for parties and other social activities which will also receive a nice boost later tonight when the First Quarter Moon joins Jupiter - look for it!
Saturday, July 21: Aside from a certain degree of emotional intensity coincidental to the Scorpio Moon, things are relatively calm across the heavens today with some potential for a misunderstanding or mix-up in the late afternoon. There are also indications for being able to accomplish a considerable amount of work today as well on this last full day of solar Cancer. Enjoy!
