It didn’t take long to for the Aries Ingress and Mercury retrograde to peg the WTF-O-Meter, as the fallout was almost immediate. If you recall, last week I made mention of a number of features in the Spring Equinox chart pointing to what I termed “economic turbulence” which happened to coincide with new tariffs being place on imported goods from China. Stocks plunged. Combined with wack policy decisions, firings and Fox News pundit replacements being made by the White House in the midst of Mercury’s retrograde station, I don’t see anything good coming from these areas, at least not until things get much worse, which is usually how we do business. Fix on failure. I would go as far as to say we won’t really see much in the way of positive change until something very serious goes wrong that will impact everyone; only when there can be no dispute as to what the problem truly is that we can collective decide how to fix it.
These thoughts appear to be confirmed in the astrological patterns forming this week and next as Mercury begins to gain retrograde momentum in Aries, while Mars, the Aries analog, moves closer to its biannual conjunction with Saturn in Capricorn. This represents an irresistible force (Mars) coming in contact with an immovable force (Saturn) and something’s got to give. Which way it gives is difficult to surmise with Mercury retrograde skewing the forecast, but my guess is that a sense of frustration in the face of delays, setbacks, blockages and impasses are likely to surface in a number of areas. This will also find greater expression as we head toward Saturday’s Full Moon in Libra and points beyond.
The second Full Moon of March (and the second “Blue Moon” of the year), takes place at the front-end of Libra on Saturday, March 31 at 8:37 am (10Lib54) where it illuminates Libra and Aries while in tense configuration with the Mars-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn. With Aries, Libra and Capricorn being cardinal, or initiating signs, I would expect to see new rollouts having difficulty gaining traction. The polarity typically associated with the Libra-Aries Full Moon involves the stress between our desire to be uncompromisingly ourselves (Aries Sun) and seeing to the needs of our partners and relationships (Libra Moon) with a tendency to hit extremes either way. But perhaps not this time around. With Mercury retrograde joined with the Sun in Aries, there is hesitation or perhaps reconsideration with regard to our personal desires; maybe a glance backward in time (Mercury retrograde) for historical precedence. In addition, the T-square formation between Mars-Saturn and the Sun-Moon suggests a more mature, sober and pragmatic approach to matters involving love and relationship instead of hasty or careless decisions that carry long-term repercussions. Due to the amount of tension reflected in this configuration, it seems as though this might not be a choice so much as an imperative and one that will be revisited more than once over the course of the coming month.
Upon closer inspection, seeing the impulsive and reckless course being taken at the top of the political food chain, we could see current matters taking a steep descent, particularly where finance is concerned. This is underscored by the fact that Venus will enter her ruling sign of Taurus seven hours ahead of the Full Moon, which often involves natural resources, at least in collective terms.
However the outer manifestations unfold, the most important feature will tend to fall within the context of our personal interactions with others, whether they be intimate, familial or professional. It’s here that we’re being called to find a way toward an authentic expressions of our true own selves without forsaking our connections and interdependence with others. With the advent of spring in the Northern Hemisphere as well as the celebration of life’s renewal reflected at Passover and Easter, new approaches combined with a sense of humility can go a long way toward breathing new life into old, familiar forms.
Lunar Gardening Report
Excellent planting and feeding conditions are on tap on Sunday, favoring all manner of sowing, transplanting, fertilizing and pruning to enhance growth with the Moon waxing strongly in Cancer. Which is good considering there is little to recommend for the remainder of the week with Monday through Wednesday morning better for cutting, clearing, weeding and pest control under the Leo Moon. Wednesday afternoon through Friday morning aren’t great days to plant or feed, but better days to organize, plot, plan, build and prep for better conditions with the Moon nearly full in Virgo. Friday afternoon is good for planting flowers and other ornamentals once the Moon enters Libra while we need to be aware that Saturday is the Libra Full Moon and perhaps a little too bioenergetically active to safely plant. Whatever. If it needs to go in, so be it. Easter Sunday and the following Monday will be even better days to plant as the Moon transitions into uber-fertile Scorpio and we get a big, green light for early plantings.
Daily Forecast (For all signs)
(Times are Eastern Standard/-0400UTC)
Sunday, March 25: The waxing Moon in Cancer suggests a slight increase in emotional reactions or responses throughout the day with a sense of expansiveness or exuberance with regard to our beliefs during the morning hours (Venus quincunx Jupiter). Misunderstandings and technical glitches are possible early in the day while a test of wills might emerge later this afternoon with nobody really winning anything. A more positive, upbeat vibe is likely to assert itself early evening, hopefully countering the potential for taking differences in taste or values personally.
Monday, March 26: With the Moon now moving through sunny Leo, personal self-expression and a sense of generosity prevails throughout the morning hours with a growing sense of restlessness making itself known in the late afternoon. Duty and responsibility issues may surface tonight, but nothing to lose sleep over.
Tuesday, March 27: This morning would be a good time for taking stock of plans already in the process of unfolding to see what still needs further research or study when the Leo Moon dances with Mercury retrograde. Over-extension or coloring too far outside of the lines could grow uncomfortable later tonight, but this is largely a matter of choice. Choose wisely.
Wednesday, March 28: With the Leo Moon Void of Course (VOC) until entering discerning Virgo at 10:30 am, watch what you agree to. Expect the unexpected with the overarching theme involving sudden changes in fortune or relationship status (Venus conjunct Uranus). This is a restless combination that isn’t given to micro-management or being kept to strict rules while love and sex could take a walk on the wild side. Financial markets could show a steep sell-off today as well. These themes are likely to expand as we make our way into the evening hours with someone who typically remains in the shadows growing particularly bold. This could be an interesting day!
Thursday, March 29: If anything left the rails yesterday, there may be hell to pay this morning with limits strictly reinforcing themselves (Sun square Saturn). Otherwise, this is a no-nonsense aspect that often coincides with duties, responsibilities and consequences that doesn’t take well to short-cuts or sloppy work. As the Moon continues to wax in Virgo, we’ll be deep into the details although there could be lapses just before noon when wishful thinking makes a cameo appearance. Later tonight would be a good time to make things clear if they became muddled earlier in the day.
Friday, March 30: Don’t step in during the first half of the day with the Virgo Moon VOC until 2:00 pm when it enters Libra and things grow a bit more ambiguous. Health issues take center stage around noon while a little later and we may find ourselves having to bend a little in order to accommodate our closest and dearest. We might also begin to feel the psychic pressure beginning to build ahead of tomorrow morning’s Full Moon.
Saturday, March 31: On this final day of March, we see Venus cross the cusp into her home sign of Taurus where luxury, comfort and the sensuous world take on greater meaning until late April. Any potential conflicts will likely arise in the predawn hours when most of us are fast asleep even as we move closer to the main event. The Libra Full Moon becomes exact today at 8:37 am, illuminating the second decan of Libra and Aries (10Lib/Ari54) where polarity tends to form around personal desire (Aries) and the needs of the relationship (Libra). Whatever emerges today will bring greater awareness to this theme with the potential for compromise and cooperation instead of ego conflicts. Any arguments that arise around noon will go absolutely nowhere, so don’t bother. Kiss and make up.
