This coming week lays the groundwork for Mercury's retrograde station on Dec. 3 in terms of unfolding developments and whatever preparations we care to make as the planet of communication and transportation messes with the program until Dec. 22. Considering Mercury will turn retrograde in Sagittarius, you'll want to leave nothing to chance when it comes to long-distant travel arrangements; this week is the last opportunity to do so before the Trickster displays his boarding pass.
I've said it a million times and I'll say it again: Mercury retrograde isn't a bad thing; it simply suggests a temporary ebb-tide in the communication department when things don't quite go according to our plans. Individuals able to let go of the need to control outcomes will have a better time of Mercury retrograde's indirect methods of manifestation than those who cling. Perhaps easier said than done, and with this Merc Retro occurring in the midst of the Holiday Shopping Season, there might be more returns this year than last. At any rate, this week would be a better time to make purchases and have stuff shipped than it will be Dec. 3-22, especially if the gifts are technological in nature as Mercury is tied to such things.
Although the mundane aspect of Mercury retrograde discussed above is of some concern, the most interesting part of Mercury's station is that it will be joined with Saturn in the final degrees of Sagittarius - the zodiacal address of the Galactic Center - indicating matters of major importance unfolding over the course of the next two weeks. The cosmic significance of this convergence of planetary and interstellar markers would suggest some kind of message involving consequence and accountability on a grand scale. Although the Mercury-Saturn conjunction will occur in slow-motion, we should expect spikes this coming Monday or Tuesday and again Dec. 6; yet whatever occurs, it won't be until January 12 that the process finds completion and closure.
Next week we'll take a closer look at Mercury stationing retrograde eight hours before the Full Moon in Gemini as well as other cosmic developments as we close out the year. Until then, make good use of the coming week, crossing stuff off your list in anticipation of the retrograde season which is likely to catch many people completely off-guard. Except for you, dear reader.
Lunar Gardening Report
Excellent growing conditions arrive Sunday through Tuesday morning with the Moon surging in fertile Pisces. This would be a good time for sprouting, planting, repotting and enriching soil with marine-based amendments. Tuesday afternoon through late afternoon Thursday are better days for cutting, clearing, raking, mowing, weeding and pest control than they are for putting anything in the ground. Decent growing and feeding conditions return Friday and Saturday with the Moon transiting Taurus, not to mention the therapeutic, grounding benefits that come with working the soil.
Daily Forecast (For all signs)
(Times are Eastern Standard -0050/UTC)
Saturday, Nov. 25: Communication, travel and other exchanges are front and center today, most strongly in the morning hours with surprising developments telling only a part of the story as Mercury makes the first of three flowing contacts with Uranus. The morning hours appear energetic while we should treat any discord in the early afternoon as a passing thing and nothing to get tangled-up in, which might be easier than it sounds with the Moon waxing in emotionally-detached Aquarius. Whatever emerged this morning will find a continued emphasis around sunset in the way of news and extraordinary developments, lending a more sober tone to social interactions later tonight.
Sunday, Nov. 26: The Moon is now in the dreamy waters of Pisces even as it enters into its First Quarter Phase midday, coinciding with greater levels of uncertainty and second guessing than we would normally see. As this is a time for reassessments, corrections and adjusting our trajectories, it would be best to give things a little time to unfold. With Mercury turning retrograde one week from today alongside the Gemini Full Moon, it would be good to have a personal strategy in place for the coming work week. If there has been any recent discord or lack of harmony in your close relationships, today would be a good time to clear the air as well as address matters involving health and healing (Venus trine Chiron). This in turn could lighten things-up and contribute to a more expansive and optimistic feeling when you turn out the lights tonight.
Monday, Nov. 27: The Moon continues to wax in Pisces, lending a more idealistic or spiritual slant to the day's events even as we continue to navigate uncharted waters. Uncertainty may be a major factor in terms of financial markets or anything that brings value into play in light of any drastic changes (Venus quincunx Uranus). Tighter mental focus is apparent through most of the day into tomorrow morning while those in a receptive state could receive an important piece of information when Mercury joins Saturn at the Galactic Center overnight tonight.
Tuesday, Nov. 28: All of today's astrological activity falls in the morning hours before the Moon enters Aries at 11:30 a.m. and pulls the trigger. News, communication, travel and words in any shape or form are likely to take on greater gravity and in some cases, return to haunt (Mercury conjunct Saturn conjunct Galactic Center). As this is the first of three conjunctions Mercury will make to Saturn, whatever is making a splash will be revisited twice more in the weeks to come.
Wednesday, Nov. 29: Momentum builds with the waxing Moon moving through the proactive sign of Aries, putting muscle behind our intentions and desires even as we make preparations for Mercury Retrograde on Sunday. Aside from minor forms of power or control issues after sunset, the day appears free of obstacles blocking forward momentum. Even so, with Mercury beginning to station, there may be a bit of a drag on the pace of unfolding, but not enough to stop them in their tracks.
Thursday, Nov. 30: We're looking at a very active start to the day with the Aries Moon and its ruler, Mars making a large showing throughout the morning hours, featuring health matters as well as sudden, explosive developments actnng as percursors to an extremely volatile signature tomorrow morning (Mars opposed Uranus). Watch for the Aries Moon entering a two-hour void-of-course (VOC) period beginning at 1:37 p.m., ending when the Moon enters Taurus at 3:38 p.m. A more practical, as well as fixed and stubborn approach to whatever is going down at this time needs to be taken into consideration; better to find a way to become grounded, yet alert and flexible enough to absorb any unexpected impacts.
Friday, Dec. 1: This first day of the final month of 2017 is likely to be indicative of what we can expect through the entire, action-packed month of December as we see Mars move opposite Uranus with potentially extremes manifestations involving conflicts, arguments, rebellions, warfare, violence, accidents, firearms and explosives. Needless to say, this is perhaps one of the more intense planetary markers to coincide with actions and behaviors far outside the norm. Expect the unexpected. Venus enters Sagittarius where social opinion becomes personal as well as the temptation to spend money we don’t have things we don't need up until Christmas. Oh, Joy! This is further magnified by a Jupiter-Neptune aspect lending unfounded optimism and impractical assessments with regard to personal and collective finances. With Mercury set to retrograde on Sunday, just before the Gemini Full Moon takes place, would suggest we're on some kind of roll that will keep us on our toes as we make our way through one of the busier months of 2017. Until then, remain centered and aware in the face of the inexplicable.
